Gita Chengappa has over two decades of extensive experience in, project conceptualization and management. She has successfully managed bilateral and multilateral Innovation and Entrepreneurship development projects in partnership with prominent national and international development agencies, including the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Department of MSME, of the Government of India and international agencies such as the UNDP, the European Union, the World Bank, among others.

Ms. Chengappa possesses a deep understanding of global, technology business incubation ecosystems, with a specific emphasis on cross-border venture promotion, facilitating the growth of startups in diverse geographies and environments, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of the global markets. Additionally, she provides strategic advice on intellectual property (IP) protection, helping innovative startups gain a competitive edge through effective IP management practices. She has also been involved in Projects for empowering Women and youth through skill development in emerging technologies. She was recognized by the Indian Science Parks and Technology Business Incubators Association, ISBA, for her sustained contributions in the field of Incubation and Innovation, in October 2023.

Ms. Chengappa has served as a member of both the National Advisory Committee and the Project Monitoring Committee of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India for conceptualizing, selecting implementing agencies and monitoring the progress of Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship Development programmes, across India. She has also served as the Governing body Member of the Indian Science Parks and Business Incubators Association, ISBA.

Her recent work has had an impact on fostering innovative technology-driven entrepreneurship and driving sustainable development initiatives, especially in Climate change Mitigation and Adaptation, across India. Through her commitment to the Climate cause, she has contributed to building a nurturing entrepreneurial ecosystem that empowers climate tech innovators and start-up ventures to leverage their performance, creating lasting environmental, social and economic value.
